This is a wonderful example of HiTeach AI entering the classroom!
Topic: Evaluating Narrative Based on How the Author Developed the Elements:Theme and Point of View
Instructor: Mrs. Kimverly U. Abu, Teacher III, Cupang Elementary School, Cupang Bauan, Batangas, Philippines
Supported by: HiTeach & AI Sokcrates Digital Lesson Observation and Discussion System
Mrs. Abu’s lesson began with a Think Tank Challenge, a brainstorming exercise designed to activate prior knowledge. The students were tasked with listing as many words as they could related to the word "theme." This was more than just a warm-up; it was a gateway into understanding the deeper messages hidden within stories. With their minds primed already, the teacher guided them into the core of the lesson. To solidify their understanding, they discussed important guidelines for identifying themes and considered real-world examples through
Contest Game.
The exploration of point of view, a crucial element that shapes how a story is told. The HiTeach system displayed three distinct perspectives. To bring these concepts to life, the puils were introduced to three captivating short stories: The Forgiving Crocodile, The Crab and the Spider, and The Praying Mantis. As they read each tale, they analyzed its theme and point of view, using the HiTeach interactive response system to submit their answers. With each question, instant feedback flashed on the screen, allowing for lively discussions and deeper reflections.
Through HiTeach’s interactive tools, engaging discussions, and real-time feedback, what could have been a simple literature lesson transformed into an immersive and thought-provoking experience. The students didn’t just learn about theme and point of view—they lived it.
