Topic: Safety precautions Before, During and After an Earthquake

Mrs. De Mesa's Science HiClass(HiTeach Class) focused on the topic of safety precautions before, during and after an earthquake. It began with the introduction on the lesson entitled “SAFE SHAKE” which give the students the idea of their topic. She also shared their lesson's objective then she introduced the first activity entitled “Quake Insight” wherein she asked the students to send Hi message about what the students learned about earthquake. The review session was an essential part of reinforcing and ensuring that students grasped the important details about earthquake. The smile in students' face while sending their messages specially when they saw their messages that was collected by the teacher shows their excitement in participating in the lesson using HiTeach 5.
In the presentation of the lesson, the teacher played a “ Quake Clips” or a video about an actual reaction of the people during earthquake which gave the students different emotions and ideas. The teacher used
Buzz in to collect their ideas and it can be noticed that all the students were actively participating and all eager to answer. After the topic was presented, the next activity was revealed which is entitled “ Quake Guard: Safety in action” where in students where asked to give the different safety precautions before, during and after the earthquake. Mrs. De Mesa used different HiTeach 5 functions during the discussions like randomizer, pick out, buzz in, pop quiz and push. The different HiTeach functions made the discussion interactive and enjoyable.
According to one of the students HiTeach day is their favorite day of the week because their answers were always recognized and the teacher prepared different exciting activities for them using different HiTeach functions. For them the most interesting and most exciting part of their Science Hiclass is the Quiz Bee where their teacher used
AI function to generate questions. All of the were excited to answer different questions in quiz bee and they were all excited to know who will be in top 1. The excitement grew stronger as the teacher unveiled their last activity which was entitled “Safe Voice” wherein students were asked to use the voice recorder to enumerate the different safety precautions before during and after the earthquake. Everyone excitedly goes to a quiet place and recorded their answers. Hearing their voice after Mrs. De Mesa Collected it made everyone proud and fulfilled.
Teacher De Mesa’s experience sharing: Indeed, HiTeach 5 makes both teacher and the student SMARTER!. It can make a simple lesson more interesting and engaging. It equips the teacher with “power” that can be used to elevate the quality of education.
