Teacher Lin Chia-Ru from Haishan Elementary School delivered a talk titled "Smart Classroom Practice Hand-in-Hand with HiTeach & AI," sharing her authentic journey from her first encounter with HiTeach to gradual integration of AI and cloud mind mapping, ultimately fostering autonomous learning among her students.

For many educators, introducing new educational technology is rarely about mastering every feature right from the start. More often, it begins with a single lesson, a single activity, or the genuine reactions of a group of children—slowly uncovering where technology truly brings meaningful change to teaching.

Reflecting on her early days with HiTeach, Teacher Lin admitted she was far from proficient. In her first year, she described herself as "playing with HiTeach alongside the kids": the teacher wasn't entirely sure, the children weren't either, yet amidst this mutual exploration, she noticed an overwhelmingly enthusiastic response from her students.

Particularly during interactive moments like smart rating, students exhibited high excitement and engagement. When children could express themselves in real-time, rate one another, or even see their own work selected and projected onto the big screen, learning was no longer passive reception. It became a visible, participatory, and deeply engaging experience. It was precisely these authentic classroom reactions that inspired Teacher Lin to explore HiTeach further.

What Initially Attracted Her Was the Phrase "Zero Lesson Prep."

For busy frontline teachers, reducing the lesson preparation workload is an extremely direct requirement. Teacher Lin candidly recalled thinking: "Wow, how wonderful—no lesson prep needed!" However, as she attended training workshops and continuously tested different features, she gradually realized that HiTeach's value goes far beyond saving time for teachers. It enables educators to see every student's learning status more efficiently, allowing them to design classrooms that are richer in interaction, feedback, and extended learning.

In class management and instructional design, Teacher Lin also attempted to weave HiTeach into students' learning journeys. When taking over a 5th-grade class, she used HiTeach to ask students about their self-expectations. To her surprise, the most prominent keyword in the generated word cloud was "Self-Discipline." This finding deeply impressed her and served as an important starting point for the class's subsequent development.

Later, Teacher Lin brought these student expectations to Parent's Day, allowing parents to see the goals their children held in their hearts. Simultaneously, she used HiTeach to gather parents' hopes for their children, turning Parent's Day from a one-way teacher presentation into a two-way interactive dialogue that built shared understanding of student learning. For parents who previously worried about tablets or digital learning platforms, seeing how technology helped them understand their children's thoughts and goals transformed doubts into understanding and support.

Moving deeper into classroom practice, Teacher Lin gradually experimented with differentiated and individualized learning. In a class of 32 students, where each child possesses distinct thoughts and learning paces, it is difficult for a teacher to give complete individual feedback within limited class time. However, by leveraging HiTeach in tandem with AI GPT applications, students receive personalized AI responses immediately after expressing their ideas, ensuring every child's learning journey receives meaningful feedback.

For teachers, this is not just about utilizing a technology feature; it is about making "seeing every single child" possible in real classrooms. AI does not replace the teacher; instead, it assists teachers in navigating class size, time constraints, and individual differences, finding a more feasible support mechanism.

By 6th grade, Teacher Lin further guided her students in collaborative mind mapping. Building upon their 5th-grade habits, the students had already developed a routine of pre-class preparation. In class, students divided into groups to choose different content focus areas—such as author background, text structure, or supplementary research—co-creating a comprehensive mind map. This mind map was not merely the product of a single lesson, but was preserved via cloud links as a lasting resource for future review.

What delighted the teacher most was discovering that some students spontaneously clicked into the cloud mind map prior to exams to revisit the content co-created with their peers. This was not a mandatory assignment, but a self-directed learning strategy that students discovered and adopted on their own initiative.

From the initial "Self-Discipline" word cloud to students independently revisiting cloud mind maps for revision, Teacher Lin witnessed a profound evolution: when classroom interactions, feedback, and learning artifacts are preserved, connected, and extended, students gradually cultivate a sense of responsibility for their own learning.

At the conclusion of her presentation, Teacher Lin noted that as HiTeach's features continuously advance, she sometimes felt unable to keep up with every update. The rule she set for herself was "add one skill per semester": try mind mapping this semester, and practice contact books or mini board games the next. Even if progress is gradual, steady forward steps build substantial growth.

This journey reflects the most authentic path for frontline educators adopting smart teaching. One does not need to master every feature from day one, nor must every lesson undergo a radical overhaul. Instead, start from familiar teaching scenarios, find a manageable starting point, accumulate gradually, and witness transformation unfold over time.

From being initially drawn by "zero lesson prep" to deeply understanding HiTeach's multifaceted value in classroom interaction, AI feedback, parent-teacher communication, and student autonomous learning, Teacher Lin Chia-Ru's sharing presented the most genuine and inspiring picture of a smart classroom: teachers do not need to be perfect immediately; rather, they can experiment and grow alongside their students and HiTeach.
