On World Teachers' Day, we would like to share the story of a name created to grow alongside educators: Ti Mo Dou (醍摩豆, pronounced "tee-moh-doh"). TEAM Model describes a smarter education support system shaped by long-term research and classroom practice. Ti Mo Dou gives that same vision a culturally meaningful Chinese name, carrying our commitment to teacher growth, student insight, shared learning, and hope for the future.
The story began with our first-generation product in 1999. Through continued educational technology research, large-scale teaching experiments, and successive generations of classroom applications, we developed the TEAM Model Smarter Education Supporting System: an integrated framework designed to help schools implement modern pedagogy while accelerating teacher professional growth.
Educational technology creates lasting value only when it becomes part of real teaching practice. TEAM Model was therefore developed as more than a standalone classroom tool or one-time activity. It supports the connection among school development, teaching methods, classroom evidence, cloud services, and professional learning.
TEAM Model has supported educational innovation across different schools and regions. For Chinese-speaking educators, however, an English name alone may not immediately communicate the values behind the system. We therefore gave TEAM Model a Chinese name that is easier to approach and remember while carrying a deeper educational meaning: Ti Mo Dou.
The two names refer to the same smarter education vision. TEAM Model presents an integrated structure for teaching, assessment, diagnosis, and remediation. Ti Mo Dou translates the spirit of that structure into a Chinese cultural story about insight, learning through exchange, growth, and hope.
Ti Mo Dou does not replace TEAM Model in international communication, nor is it merely a phonetic adaptation. Its three Chinese characters were chosen to express three forms of educational value.
Ti recalls a Chinese expression associated with receiving profound guidance and suddenly seeing something clearly. It represents the moment when a teacher's timely guidance leads to genuine understanding.
Mo conveys mutual observation, professional exchange, and learning from one another. It reflects how students, teachers, and schools grow by sharing practice and building knowledge together.
Dou evokes the image of a seed. Every learner, classroom, and teacher holds possibilities that education can help nurture, strengthen, and bring to life.
Together, these ideas make Ti Mo Dou more than a product name. They describe an educational aspiration: teachers continue learning, students gain insight through guidance, schools grow through professional exchange, and every classroom helps cultivate hope for the future.
TEAM represents both teamwork and integration. It is also formed from four connected e-engineering components in the TEAM Model framework. Together, they help turn classroom activity and learning evidence into a continuous cycle of instructional improvement.
For teachers, TEAM Model provides a system that connects instruction, assessment, diagnostic analysis, and follow-up support. For students, it can link self-directed learning before class, collaboration during class, and review or remediation after class. Learning is no longer divided into isolated activities; each stage can inform the next.
A TEAM Model smarter classroom is not defined simply by adding more devices. It requires the thoughtful integration of technology, pedagogy, and content into a teaching model that improves interaction, makes learning visible, and supports timely instructional decisions.
Within this approach, the TEAM Model Based Smarter Learning (TBSL) Methodology uses HiTeach to connect questioning, feedback, tasks, assessment, learning data, and collaboration. Teachers can understand class-wide learning status while turning student responses, ideas, and work into shared resources for discussion and improvement.
Effective interaction is not about making a classroom appear busy. It means that each interaction produces useful learning evidence: evidence that helps teachers decide what to do next and helps students reflect, revise, and grow. This is the classroom vision behind Ti Mo Dou: teachers provide meaningful guidance, students build understanding through interaction, and collective intelligence grows through a connected learning process.

World Teachers' Day honors educators everywhere for their contribution to students, society, and our shared future. The purpose of educational technology is to help teachers do what matters most, not to replace the human relationships at the heart of education.
We chose this meaningful day to introduce the Chinese name Ti Mo Dou. We hoped it would bring Chinese-speaking educators closer to the vision of TEAM Model while reminding us of our original commitment: to keep refining research, technology, and classroom practice into a force that inspires insight, strengthens professional learning, and nurtures hope.
