HiTeach Student Guide
Web IRS is the browser-based student interface for a HiTeach classroom. With no app installation required, students can join from a tablet, laptop, smartphone, or desktop computer to answer questions, submit work, take notes, and review the flow of the lesson. Every learner can participate, while every response becomes useful evidence for teaching and learning.
Requirements: Students need a supported web browser on a tablet, laptop, smartphone, or desktop computer. The teacher runs the lesson with HiTeach 5 or HiTeach Web. Students can open hiteach.cc, then enter the classroom ID and verification code provided by the teacher.
Teacher-side HiTeach and student-side Web IRS work together as the live data channel of the classroom. Teachers launch questions, learning materials, and assignments according to their instructional goals; students respond in real time and submit work in multiple formats. Once students are familiar with Web IRS, more class time can be devoted to discussion, expression, practice, and timely feedback.
Launch questions, materials, and assignments; monitor response status; and adjust instruction using live classroom evidence.
Answer in real time, submit images, audio, and files, record personal notes, and revisit the Class Record throughout the lesson.
HiTeach and Web IRS support live classroom interaction, while IES Cloud and AClass ONE preserve learning records for continued review.
Students use Web IRS on tablets or other browser-enabled devices to respond, create, and review their classroom learning.
Select a topic to jump to that section. Use the TOP button in the lower-right corner of the website to return to the beginning of the page.
After Web IRS connects to HiTeach and joins the classroom, students can answer questions, submit assignments, take notes, and review the Class Record from the same browser interface. On a tablet or computer, the Class Record can remain visible on the right. On a smartphone, students use the switch button to move between the active interaction and Class Record views.
When the teacher has not launched a question or assignment, Web IRS displays an in-class waiting message. Students can simply keep the page open and wait for the next activity.
Web IRS changes automatically according to the Push, IRS Interaction, or Work Task selected by the teacher.
The interaction area and Class Record adapt to the available screen width.
When the teacher launches an IRS activity in HiTeach 5, Web IRS displays the matching student response interface. Supported response modes include Single Choice, Multiple Choice, True/False, Text Response, and Buzz-in.
For Single Choice, True/False, and Buzz-in activities, follow the prompt and select the required response. For Multiple-answer question and Text Response, students must tap Submit after completing their answer. HiTeach shows the teacher the whole class response status in real time, making it easier to identify misconceptions, invite explanation, or adjust the next step of instruction.
Submission reminder: For Multiple-answer question and Text Response activities, make sure to tap Submit. Selecting or typing an answer alone does not send it to the teacher.
Web IRS presents the response controls that match the activity launched from HiTeach.
Web IRS supports image, audio, and file assignments. Teachers can ask students to photograph paper-based work, annotate a teacher-pushed page, create on a whiteboard, record a spoken response, or upload a specified file. This flexibility supports subjects and learning activities that cannot be represented by a single answer choice.
After receiving the assignment, tap the camera icon. Choose an existing image from the device or take a new photo with the tablet or phone camera. Review the image, then tap the paper-airplane Submit button.
Students can submit a saved image or photograph their work directly in Web IRS.
If the assignment is based on a page shared by the teacher, tap the page preview to open it on the Web IRS whiteboard. Students can draw, handwrite, add arrows, or enter text. After reviewing the work, tap Submit.
A teacher-pushed page can become a space for annotation, explanation, and visible thinking.
Students can also begin with a blank whiteboard. Add one or more images, move and resize them, rotate selected objects, enter text, draw with the pen, or add arrows. This is useful for open-ended prompts, visual explanations, concept layouts, and creative work.
When the page is complete, tap the paper-airplane icon to submit it to HiTeach.
The Web IRS whiteboard combines image placement, writing, annotation, and layout tools in one workspace.
When the teacher launches an audio assignment, students can record with the microphone on a tablet, smartphone, or computer. The first time the feature is used, the browser normally asks for permission to access the microphone. Select Allow, record the response, review it, and tap Submit.
Permission reminder: If recording does not start, check that the browser allows the Web IRS site to use the microphone.
Allow microphone access, record the response, review it, and submit.
When the teacher launches a file assignment, select the requested file from the device. Confirm that the filename and content are correct, then tap Submit. The submitted item appears in the Class Record.
Choose the requested file, review it, and submit the assignment.
Students can use My Notes to capture an important page, add annotations, or record a personal explanation while the lesson is in progress. These notes preserve more than a screenshot: they become learning resources that students can revisit after class in AClass ONE.
Teacher-pushed e-notes and student-created My Notes help connect classroom participation with after-class review.
Students can check the Class Record at any point during the lesson. On a tablet or computer, it is normally visible on the right side of the interface. On a smartphone, tap the Class Record button to switch views, then use the Back button to return to the active interaction.
Class Record keeps teacher-pushed materials, interactions, notes, and assignments within reach.
If an assignment requires more time, or a student joins the lesson late, the student can locate that item in Class Record. As long as the teacher has not closed the assignment, it can be reopened and completed or resubmitted.
Availability condition: The assignment must still be open on the teacher side. Once the teacher closes it, students can no longer submit a response.
An open assignment can be retrieved from Class Record and completed before the teacher closes it.
If a browser tab is closed, the network connection is interrupted, or a student arrives late, an already connected classmate can tap the QR-code icon in Web IRS. The screen displays the classroom QR code, classroom ID, and verification code. The student who needs to join can scan the QR code with a device camera.
Alternatively, open hiteach.cc in a browser and enter the classroom ID and verification code shown on the screen.
A connected student can display the QR code and sign-in details to help a classmate rejoin the same lesson.
When the teacher selects End Lesson, Web IRS automatically displays an individual summary for the lesson. Depending on the activities used, the summary may include the session score, cumulative score, interaction points, number of interactions, participation, quiz attempts, the student's score, and the class average.
This immediate summary helps students reflect on both participation and performance. Teachers can also use it to prompt goal setting, follow-up practice, or a more focused review in AClass ONE.
At the end of class, students can review a concise summary of their participation and learning performance.
