How to use AI Text Analysis with HiTeach 928 (free to use)

In a digital teaching environment, teachers often use various digital tools to collect students' text-based question responses, tasks, or assignments, and the large amount of text data compiled can be sorted and analyzed by applying HiTeach 5/928's AI-assisted Text Analysis Function, which not only reduces the teachers' burden, but also greatly improves the effectiveness of teaching decisions.

※ Is the AI Text Analysis feature available by default in HiTeach? No. Please refer to the "New AI Text Analysis Module and AI Sokrates Summary Notice are available for free for a limited time!" to get the authorization.

This article introduces you to the applications that are available on HiTeach 928 (of course, HiTeach 5 is also supported).

If you have collected text content from students using Excel or Google Sheets, you can use the AI Text Analysis function to paste it into HiTeach and perform text analysis.

There are two ways of pasting text, one is Pure Text (no student number, only text content) and the second is 2-column Table (including student number and text content).

1. Pure Text

The following is an example of using data organized in Excel, and how to paste it in as pure text for analysis:

1. In the Excel file, select all the text fields to be pasted into HiTeach, and then copy (keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + C).

2. Open Teaching Aids in HiTeach 5, click AI Text Analysis, paste the copied text into the field (keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + V), and then select Start.

3. The AI Text Analysis window is then displayed, showing the results of AI analysis and collation. The smart category label is displayed by default, and you can see the words and phrases automatically categorized and the number of text in each category. HiTeach provides a very flexible analysis feature that allows the user to adjust the categorization of text, or increase/decrease the number of categories, and then allows the AI to recalculate them.

4. Clicking on the keywords frequency label will display a bar graph of keyword frequency statistics and the number of keywords. You can delete keywords on your own and then let the AI recalculate them.

5. Clicking on the word cloud label will form a cloud of keywords according to their frequency. Different text sizes and colors are used to form the cloud for teachers' different presentation needs and teaching applications. The system provides users with a choice of white background or black background style for presentation.

When you use the AI Text Analysis function, if you paste back to the whiteboard page or minimize the analysis result window, you will see a light blue AI icon on the page, and if you want to return to the analysis result window, just click this blue AI icon again.

2. 2-column Table

Again, using an Excel file with organized data compiled as an example, if this data contains students' seat numbers, and the seat numbers are the same as the ones of the student list you choose when starting a lesson in HiTeach, then when using a 2-column table and pasting the text, HiTeach will automatically link the texts with the student list for analysis. Teachers can view student information after text analysis, as well as do SMART Pick-out according to the text analysis results. The operation method is as follows:

Textual data collected in relation to student list seat numbers

1. In the Excel file, select all the seat numbers and text fields to be pasted into HiTeach, and then copy (keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + C).

Select the fields that contains the seat number and text content

2. Open Teaching Aids in HiTeach 5, click AI Text Analysis, click 2-column table, paste the copied text into the field (keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + V), click the arrow to preview, and then select Start.

3. The smart category label is displayed by default, and you can see the words and phrases automatically categorized and the number of text in each category. By clicking on the seat number, you can see the content of the student's text. By clicking on the total number of the category, you can pick out a student from the category or give them all points

4. Clicking on the keywords frequency label will display a bar graph of keyword frequency statistics and the number of keywords. Clicking on the flip card function will show the students who used the keyword, and clicking on the seat number will show the content of this student's text. If you click on the bar graph, you can pick out a student that used the keyword or give them all points.

5. Clicking on the word cloud label will form a cloud of keywords according to their frequency. Different text sizes and colors are used to form the cloud for teachers' different presentation needs and teaching applications.
