Environmental Requirements: HiTA 5, Web IRS 5, or Sokrates Lecture Observation app Why can't teachers use the camera function when using the HiTA 5 app? Why can't students use the microphone to record sound and take photos in Web IRS?
Today's smartphones or computers are becoming more and more strict in managing the permissions of various applications, so if users themselves do not agree to turn on the permissions to use the camera, photo album, microphone, etc., the function will not be available.
Usually, when you use the related functions for the first time, a prompt message will po
p up for users to Allow access, when you use HiTA or Web IRS, of course, you have to
Allow to use it.
If you don't
Allow and can't use it, you need to go to the device settings to set up the permission individually. The setting method is different for different cell phone models and operating systems, so please refer to the operation method of your own device to set it up. The following are some examples.
iPhone and Android "Settings"
iPad "Settings" For example, to change the camera and microphone permission for using Web IRS via Chrome browser on your computer, please refer to the following steps:
Step 1: In Chrome, select the three-dot "More" icon in the upper right, and then select "Settings".
Step 2: Click "Privacy and security" and then "Site settings" to set permissions for options such as "Microphone" or "Camera".
In addition, when there are different software and programs on the same device that want to access the same service, usually the system will only allow one program to access the service.
For example, during online video teaching, students are using Google Meet on their tablets to connect with the teacher, in this case, if the teacher uses HiTeach 5 to ask the students to do a recording task, then the students may not be able to record the sound. At this time, the teacher can ask the students to turn off the microphone on Google Meet first, and then go back to Web IRS to do the recording, and students can record normally.
