Software Requirements: please check whether your HiTeach 5 has been updated to the latest version. To find out which version of HiTeach 5 your computer is running or to update the software, please check
here. (
It's important to update to the latest version, so make sure you check it as a priority!)
The stability of Internet connection is very important as students are supposed to stay connected to HiTeach on their devices when the class is ongoing. Although HiTeach can adapt to various network settings, connection issues are still possible due to multiple factors influencing the network.
If your computer can access the Internet (e.g., you can open a web address on your browser successfully), check whether the connection indicator on the upper corner of HiTeach is red (which indicates there's a connection issue. It should be green if everything is set). If so, please adopt the following steps to fix the issue:
1. Click the indicator on the upper right corner to reconnect
Sometimes the indicator (the icon on the upper right corner of HiTeach) turns red due to disconnection caused by unstable networking. When this occurs, simply click the indicator for reconnection. The indicator turning green means your connection is all set.
(
Note: If the indicator turns back to red after a while, then please try the other methods below.)
2. Restart your HiTeach
If the computer has not been restarted for a while, software and applications on the device may occupy too much memory space of the device system, which could result in the malfunctioning of HiTeach. In such a case, you may follow the steps below to reopen your HiTeach to fix it.
After reopening HiTeach, check if the indicator is green.
3. Disable IPv6 Routing Option
Currently, many routers have enabled IPv6 routing, but some of its connection to the Internet has not yet been set completely, leading to an IPv6 no network access error on an end user's device.
When HiTeach is running, it automatically detects all routing options on the computer. If it proceeds with the IPv6 routing, you may encounter the "IPv6 no Internet access" issue and the HiTeach won't be able to connect to the Internet.
The good news is you can resolve this error smoothly by disabling the IPv6 routing in the network settings. The steps are as follows:
Right-click on your Internet access icon in the lower right corner of the Windows desktop, click
Open Network & Internet settings, and then click
Change Adapter Option.
On the network setting window, right-click the network you are using and select
Properties from the submenu. Next, uncheck
Internet Protocol version 6 (TCP/IPv6) on the pop-up window, then click
OK to apply the change.
After the setting is completed, get back to HiTeach 5 to check whether the indicator on the upper right corner has turned green.
4. Deactivate the Internet with Weak Signals
Your computer may have multiple network connection options, and it is using an unstable network connection. The network icon shows the computer is connected, but the internet access is very slow. This may also lead to HiTeach not working normally. You can deactivate the weak Internet and select the wireless network with strong signals. Then cross-test to see if your connection gets back to normal.
