How HiTeach Enhances Collaboration Learning for Students

Digital collaboration learning offers numerous benefits to students, such as enhancing learning motivation, increasing classroom engagement, and, most importantly, improving learning outcomes. To implement digital collaboration learning requires the right tools. During the pandemic, Google Jamboard became a popular option, allowing teachers to facilitate online collaborative activities like drawing, brainstorming, and puzzle-solving on a screenshare whiteboard with students.

HiTeach Collaboration

Unlike the Jamboard, the HiTeach 5 Collaboration Tool ( Requires additional licensing, currently only allows one-time access per HiTeach session for trial) is specifically designed for tablet-based classrooms. It offers three collaboration modes like whole-class collaboration, group collaboration, and differentiated group collaboration, enabling teachers to effectively implement various collaboration strategies in the class.

In the differentiated group collaboration mode, teachers can quickly distribute the materials based on each students’ group learning requirements, such as providing additional resources to those groups/students who answered incorrectly to enhance their understanding. After the teacher assigns the collaborative tasks, students can use tablets to work together to complete them. During the session, the teacher may invite the entire class to observe each group’s work progress. Upon completion, the system will calculate each student's contribution to the collaborative task and generate a report.

To elevate collaboration, consider installing a large touch screen in the room. This setup allows members to work on their personal tablets while engaging in group discussions on the larger shared screen.

⭐Whole-Class Collaboration Mode

In whole-class collaboration mode, the teacher and all students share the same collaboration screen. The entire class, including the teacher, can edit together, and the session can be replayed after collaboration ends, allowing review of markings or actions.

HiTeach Whole Class Collaboration

Steps to set up Whole-Class Collaboration Mode:

Step 1: Click the “Work Collection/Task” button , then click the “Collaboration” button. When the “Choose Collaboration Mode” window pops up, select “Whole-Class Collaboration,” and then click “Confirm.”

Step 2: Students’ tablets will immediately receive the collaboration task content. They can enter the collaboration task board by clicking the collaboration icon, and start using the tools on the toolbar, such as pens, sticky notes, and photos, to complete the task.

Teachers can monitor students’ actions in real-time through the HiTeach platform, observing which student is actively engaged. The teacher can also participate in the collaboration process. To end the session, simply click the “Stop Collaboration” button. Afterward, the entire collaboration process can be reviewed by selecting the “Replay” option.

Pro tip:
This mode can also assign tasks to specific students. For example, you can assign the top-performing student to complete a task while the rest of the class observes, providing them with a clearer understanding of the process.

⭐Groups Collaboration

Groups collaboration is similar to whole-class collaboration, but each group works on its own task. The teacher can still monitor each group’s progress in real-time on the HiTeach platform. Use the Zoom-In feature to focus on a specific group’s screen, or even join in the collaboration task with the students.

⭐Differentiated Collaboration

Differentiated group collaboration is a distinctive feature of HiTeach that sets it apart from other collaboration platforms. It allows teachers to assign tailored tasks to each group and, using statistical charts, directly allocate differentiated tasks based on student responses or results

Another scenario to apply differentiated collaboration is after students have completed single or multiple-answer questions. At this point, the teacher can review the bar chart/statistical results of the students' responses. By clicking on the statistical chart, the “Differentiated Collaboration” option will appear, allowing the teacher to initiate new collaboration based on the students' result.
