Application of HiTA Screen Mirroring and Live Streaming Functions in HiTeach

Environment Requirements: Teacher's device: HiTeach 5 (5S, i.e., version no. 5.5 or above). Please check if your version is updated. For version checking and updating methods, please refer here.

The "Live" and "Screen Mirroring" functions of the HiTA mobile app are powerful tools for teachers to dynamically demonstrate content and capture details in the classroom, transforming the teacher's phone into a wireless document camera or a mobile content sharer. In class, the Screen Mirroring function can be used at any time to project the phone screen, including images, videos, and applications, onto the large screen connected to HiTeach. The Live function, on the other hand, synchronizes the phone's camera feed to the HiTeach page, allowing the phone camera to be aimed at materials or objects, turning it into a document presenter to live stream teaching operations in the classroom at any time.

HiTA connection HiTeach operation integration

There's no need to install a separate mirroring app. HiTeach, combined with the HiTA app, allows you to instantly project various teaching resources from your mobile phone wirelessly onto a large screen or interactive whiteboard for the whole class to view and discuss. How convenient is that!

【Important Reminder】 This function is only available when your HiTA phone and HiTeach computer are on the same local area network (LAN/Same Wi-Fi). Please refer to the explanation below.

I. Screen Mirroring / Projection

Function Description: Wirelessly projects the entire screen of the teacher's mobile phone or tablet onto the classroom's large display.

Teaching Application Scenarios:

Subject AreaApplication ScenarioSpecific Operation and Teaching Value
Technology/ITAPP Operation DemonstrationThe teacher operates a specific AR App, learning software, or cloud platform directly on the phone and uses the mirroring function to synchronously display the operation steps to the entire class.
Language Arts/ArtsTeacher Demonstrates Digital CreationThe teacher demonstrates the construction process of digital drawing or annotation techniques in e-books on the phone/tablet, magnifying and presenting the intricate operational details of the app interface.
Social Studies/ReportingInstant Data ReferenceThe teacher instantly projects reference materials, photos, or short activity videos stored on the phone onto the large screen, saving time transferring files to the computer.

II. Live (Document Camera/Live Stream)

Function Description: Activates the phone camera to wirelessly project the live image captured by the lens onto the classroom's large display, functioning as a mobile document camera.

Example of using HiTA's Live function to demonstrate an operation in HiTeach

Teaching Application Scenarios:

Subject AreaApplication ScenarioSpecific Operation and Teaching Value
Physical Education/HealthAction Detail Close-upThe teacher demonstrates correct exercise gestures, pen-holding posture, or force application techniques. The phone camera zooms in, providing a close-up view to ensure all students can clearly observe subtle details that are otherwise hard to see.
Natural SciencesMicro-Experiment Detail DisplayWhen conducting chemistry experiments or observing biological samples, the teacher aims the phone camera at the specimen, live-streaming minute changes (e.g., chemical reactions, structural textures) during the process, achieving "everyone can see" experimental instruction.
Arts/CraftsHandicraft or Painting Technique DemonstrationThe teacher demonstrates detailed movements for handicrafts, weaving, or painting (e.g., brush strokes, color matching, gluing) on a desk surface. The phone provides a close-up view, effectively enhancing the efficiency of conveying demonstration techniques.
MathematicsPhysical Manipulative DeconstructionThe teacher live-streams the operation of physical manipulatives such as 3D geometry models, protractors, or fraction boards, demonstrating complex spatial relationships or mathematical concepts to help students move from concrete to abstract understanding of knowledge.

HiTA's Live and Mirroring functions allow teachers to:

  1. Liberate Teaching Space: The teacher can leave the podium, move freely around the classroom, and capture the teaching focus at any time.

  2. Focus on Detail Instruction: Magnify subtle, fine details of objects or screen operations for the entire class to see, improving teaching clarity.

  3. Instant Supplementary Explanation: Quickly project phone content onto the large screen to serve as immediate supplementary teaching material.

Notes on Integrating HiTA Live and Mirroring Functions with HiTeach

Function Restriction: HiTA's Live and Mirroring functions require your phone and computer to be on the same "Local Area Network" to connect.
Simple Analogy: Imagine this function is like using a printer at home. Your phone and printer must be connected to the same Wi-Fi router to find each other. If one is connected to the school's Wi-Fi and the other to a mobile 4G network, or to different networks on different floors, the function will not work.
Error Prompt: If the connection fails, it usually indicates that they are "not on the same network segment."

【Advanced Setup: If troubleshooting fails】Please contact the IT department
1. Provide Information: Please inform the IT staff that you need to use the "Live" and "Mirroring" functions of HiTeach/HiTA.
2. Technical Requirements: Explain that they need to verify if the computer and mobile phone networks are on the Same Subnet or check if UDP Port transmission is restricted by the school's firewall.
