Over 300 Teachers Join Taoyuan Education Workshop: Exploring HiTeach AI for Instruction and Lesson Observation

Taoyuan City, Taiwan, hosted a high-impact professional development workshop on smart education, organized by the National Education Advisory Group. Director Liu Zhongcheng of the Taoyuan Department of Education personally attended the event, joining over 300 educators from various disciplines to explore innovative applications of AI in teaching and lesson observation. Dr. Power Wu, President of the Global TEAM Model Education Research Institute, delivered a keynote speech, offering deep insights into how AI can transform classroom instruction and professional development mechanisms.

Over 300 Advisory Group Members Participated

From CAI (Computer-Assisted Instruction) to GAI (Generative AI)

Dr. Wu began his speech by tracing the research background of AI-assisted teaching, highlighting the evolution from CAI to GAI. (See publication:Generative AI Classroom Application) The HiTeach AI platform integrates generative AI capabilities, supporting teachers with **automated grading, question generation, mind map creation, reading comprehension analysis**, and **oral expression practice**, enabling diverse teaching strategies. AI also performs image recognition and semantic analysis to provide immediate feedback on student work, enhancing teaching efficiency and student motivation—moving toward the vision that "every child can succeed."

The session also showcased the systematic application of AI in lesson observation. Traditional classroom observations often suffer from subjectivity, insufficient data, and limited replay capability. The AI Sokrates Classroom Analysis System addresses these issues with features like the "Sokrates Timeline," which records every teacher-student interaction and generates visual timelines, transcripts, and lesson summaries—helping educators quickly review and assess instructional flow and depth.

The system also automatically generates analytical reports that include questioning frequency, student engagement, and test performance—offering a clear overview of learning progress. Combined with AI analysis and the S-T (Student-Teacher) interaction model, the system provides instructional pattern classification and teaching strategy recommendations, serving as a powerful tool for teacher self-reflection and professional development.

Dr. Wu emphasized: "The value of AI-assisted lesson observation lies not just in documentation, but in providing teachers with a transparent, meaningful, and professional feedback mechanism." When AI becomes more than a tool—when it supports reflective practice and elevates teaching quality—every lesson transforms into a moment for meaningful dialogue and professional growth.
The event also introduced the AI Teaching and Lesson Observation Case Platform, which has accumulated over 600,000 lesson observation records since 2017. The platform offers teachers diverse case studies across subjects and grade levels, searchable by learning objective, subject area, or teaching method—deeply integrating AI into instructional practice.

Award Presentation: AI for Transformative Education
This AI-powered professional development session by Taoyuan City’s National Education Advisory Group not only strengthened educators’ understanding of smart teaching, but also marked a new chapter in AI-driven lesson observation. Powered by HiTeach AI, the classroom of the future will evolve beyond the simple dynamic of teaching and learning—it will become a smart learning ecosystem, data-informed and collaboratively built. Taoyuan City, Taiwan, is making steady progress toward a more personalized and efficient blueprint for future learning.
