For a long time, "writing" has been a shared pain point for teachers and students: grading takes an enormous amount of time for teachers, and by the time students receive feedback, their initial inspiration has faded. To break this impasse, the research teacher team from the University of Taipei Experimental Elementary School (ESUT)—Teachers Feng Chia-Yen, Hsu Ching-Yi, and Lai Yi-Hsuan—published the revolutionary "WRITE Dual-Process AI-Assisted Writing Guidance Model" in Taipei Education e-News, combining HiTeach AI and CooC AI (A platform service provided by the Department of Education, Taipei City Government) to redefine the rhythm of writing instruction.
This model breaks writing down into two deep cycles, allowing texts to evolve step-by-step with AI assistance:
After completing the first draft of a paragraph, students receive instant scoring and suggestions from HiTeach AI within seconds. Teachers simultaneously project outstanding works onto the big screen for observation. Students make immediate corrections while their engagement is at its peak, building their expressive skills paragraph by paragraph.
Students connect paragraphs into a full text. Through conversations with the "CooC AI Assistant," they practice optimizing sentence structures and adjusting their tone. Finally, they use audio recording to read aloud and check the flow of their language, shifting writing from merely "handing in homework" to "deep thinking."
Instant feedback reduces the frustration of writing. Students no longer resist revising; instead, they enjoy the sense of achievement of improving their score from 7 to 9.
AI handles basic diagnosis and real-time feedback, allowing teachers to focus their energy on guiding students' depth of expression and addressing individual needs, becoming true guides.
Through thematic designs (e.g., family cooking, Tamsui River exploration) and the Padlet platform, the complete evolution from the first draft to the final version is recorded, making growth "visible."
